Concrete Finishers

We are interested in hiring experienced concrete finishers for work throughout Northern BC and Alberta


  • Place concrete to exposed earth, masonry, wood forms, steel forms and/or other surfaces
  • Position Concrete Pumps, Concrete Mixer Trucks into appropriate location
  • Ensure mix being poured matches project specifications
  • Move concrete pump hoses around to fill forms, crevices or to coat surfaces
  • Drags screed over finished surface to cut and clean spots from surface
  • Cuts and squares corners, using trowel
  • Assists workers engaged in erecting and moving scaffolds and in coupling and uncoupling pipe
  • Assists in application of reinforcement materials such as steel rods, steel mesh and/ or fibers
  • Assist Quality Control/Assurance Personnel in conducting the appropriate tests
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
  • Cutting Concrete to specifications
  • Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
  • Prepare floors for installations



  • Must have a Journeyman Carpenter Certificate from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice with a recognized provincial training authority
  • RED SEAL certification is an asset
  • A minimum of 3 years concrete finishing experience is preferred, willing to train eager individuals
  • Formwork experience considered an asset
  • Able to accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Practical knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Pre-access drug and alcohol testing as required on a project-by-project basis
  • Have relevant experience in different concrete placing and finishing procedures
  • Be in good health and physically fit and able to bend/crouch/kneel for extended periods of time
  • Effective oral communication skills


Skills and Attributes

  • Able to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds, and decks
  • Able to work alone, or as part of a team
  • Display good verbal and written communication skills when working with other employees
  • Knowledge in trade related math and basic survey layout
  • Working knowledge of AB and/or BC Building Codes
  • Hardworking and able to readily accept and apply direction from a Supervisor
  • Hand and finger dexterity for reaching, handling, and feeling while working


Work conditions

  • Sites located in the BC Peace Region and Alberta
  • Working inside and outside – exposure to the elements
  • Preference will be given to experienced and local candidates
  • Camp Work possible
  • Travel to and from jobsites in company vehicles

Salary: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on knowledge & experience
